European Cyber Security Month (ECSM)
October is about cybersecurity. Numerous activities are designed to strengthen the awareness of cybersecurity among citizens, business and administration.
ECSM is the EU’s annual awareness campaign that takes place each October across Europe. The aim is to raise awareness of cyber security threats, promote cyber security among citizens and organizations; and provide resources to protect themselves online, through education and sharing of good practices.
CRISP members actively participate in this year's ECSM with the following actions:
The Fraunhofer SIT provides selected articles for the ECSM for download. In addition, experts from the Fraunhofer SIT offer the possibility to register themselves free of charge for the popular encryption of Fraunhofer SIT and Telekom.

The research group SECUSO, leaded by Prof. Melanie Volkamer, CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt, has published an improved version of the popular five-minute video on the topic of online fraud - "Online-Betrug - Gefahren erkennen und abwehren". English can be chosen as subtitle language of the video. So what's new? For example, additional pauses were deliberately used in order to improve the video's comprehensibility even more, and the film now ends with a short summary of its content.
