New colorful barcode

CRISP researchers develop new JAB code with high data density for more counterfeit security: New applications in logistics and pharmaceutical industry

Researchers of Fraunhofer SIT have developed a barcode that consists of arbitrary colors and can assume any shape. The colored JAB code has a much higher data density compared to classical black and white bar and matrix codes. Therefore it can deposit much more information on the same surface, which leads to more security against counterfeiting.

CRISP researchers ensure safe infrastructure in agriculture

Federal Minister Julia Klöckner hands over funding decision for new research project

As part of the "GeoBox I" project, approved by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), Prof. Christian Reuter, head of the department "Wissenschaft und Technik für Frieden und Sicherheit  (PEASEC)" at TU Darmstadt, works together with several project partners on standardization and reliability of the infrastructure needed in agriculture. After all, even in agriculture there is a conversation about "safety-critical infrastructure" - an attack can lead to production losses and food shortages. In order to prevent these, scientists are developing a prototype for a standardized and resilient infrastructure in which the data is kept decentralized and regionally networked. Federal Minister Julia Klöckner handed over the funding decision to the project managers today.
